Division 2/3

Bombers stay perfect on season, improve to 4-0 with win against Blue Raptors By: Aric Pun Week 4 Connor Kung led the Bombers in scoring with 12 points, helping coach Huerta and the Bombers to a win against the Blue Raptors. With this win, the Bombers are now 4-0 to start the season. Caden Li added nine points for the Bombers while Max Dang contributed a pair of points and four boards. The Blue Raptors had a solid all-around effort from their nine-man lineup but fell just short of handing the Bombers their first loss. Ryan Tang led the way for the Blue Raptors with six points while Vincent Hsueh and Neal O’Bryant both chipped in with four points apiece. O’Bryant also recorded a team-high three rebounds. The Blue Raptors take on the Green Monsters next Sunday while the Bombers look to continue their win streak to five against the Hot Cheetos.

Lake Show now even at .500 after win against struggling Hot Cheetos By: Aric Pun Week 4 Coach Daniels’ Lake Show now stands at a 2-2 record thanks to Ethan Yu’s 12-point, five-rebound performance, elevating the team to a 30-20 victory against the Hot Cheetos (0-4), who’re still searching for their first win of the season. Jasper Lai was the next man up for the Lake Show, scoring 10 points while also grabbing four rebounds. Keylon Daniels dominated on the boards, grabbing a staggering 13 – nine coming in the first five minutes of the second half. Daniels also finished with a pair of points in the fourth quarter. It was a one-man-show for the Hot Cheetos, with Alvin Chan scoring all of the Hot Cheetos’ 20 points to go along with seven rebounds. The Lake Show faces the Troublemakers next Sunday while the Hot Cheetos look to get their first win against the undefeated Bombers.

Lightning defeat Troublemakers behind Voong’s 24 By: Aric Pun Week 4 Mason Voong scored 24 out of the Lightning’s 30 points to secure a 30-22 win against coach DeMena and the Troublemakers. Voong’s dominance couldn’t be stopped all game, as he tallied 13 points in the first half before slightly cooling down in the second. Preston Gittleman chipped in four points in the third and fourth quarters. The Troublemakers were led by Oliver Ng’s 14 points, three rebounds, and two assists, who have lost their first four games to start the season. Cooper Ranchez scored six points for the and grabbed two boards. After suffering an opening season loss, the Lightning have now won three straight for a 3-1 record. They look to continue their momentum against the Mini Mambas next Sunday. The Troublemakers (0-4) will attempt to get their first win against the Lake Show.

Aces beat Orcas 37-25, Zheng scores 11 of 13 in second half By: Aric Pun Week 4 Andy Zheng scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half for the Aces, fuelling them to a 37-25 victory against the struggling Orcas who are still searching for their first win of the season. Noah He chipped in with five points to go along with five rebounds and two assists for the Aces. Austin Guo added seven points. The Orcas’ Graison Wu had a team-high 14 points while Ethan Wang was the runner-up with six points. Andrew Lin chipped in with three points in the second half. Up next, the Aces face the Mamba Max next Sunday while the Orcas look to take on the surging Lions.

Hoop Force douse Heat 44-20, Ye scores 14 By: Aric Pun Week 4 Mason Ye scored 14 points while Ethan Zhou grabbed 10 boards to lead Hoop Force to a convincing 44-20 win against the Heat. Zhou also scored six points and dished out an assist. Liam Voong added eight points for Hoop Force and tallied two rebounds. Carter Tillman chipped in with six points – four coming in the second half. Coach Chuang’s Heat struggled offensively, led by Aiden Li’s 10 points. Aaron Mastandrea grabbed five boards while Justin Lam scored six points. Up next, Hoop Force takes on the Wildcats next Sunday. The Wildcats lost their first game of the season to the Lions this past week, leveling both teams record at 3-1. The Heat look to get their season back on track with a matchup against the Yetis next Sunday.

Mamba Max dominate against Raptors, Hsia and Kuan both score 22 By: Aric Pun Week 4 Connor Hsia and Mason Kuan carried the load for Mamba Max, scoring 22 points apiece on their way to a decisive 56-28 win against Coach Pan and the Raptors. Hsia also added nine rebounds and two assists while Kuan chipped in with nine boards himself. Damian Hall scored six points to go along with seven rebounds and an assist. The Raptors’ Kenrich Vuong recorded 12 points and seven boards while Jaden Ho chipped in with 10 points. Russell Chu, Isis Pan, and Sean Wang added two points each. The Mamba Max take on the Aces next Sunday while the Raptors go up against Lights Out.

Wildcats suffer first loss of season to Lions 35-21 behind Fohrer’s 21 points By: Aric Pun Week 4 Grant Fohrer scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half to go along with eight rebounds to lead the Lions to an upset victory against the previously undefeated Wildcats 35-21. William Wei was the next man up for the Lions, scoring seven points to go along with seven rebounds and two assists. Cory Zhang dominated on the glass, grabbing 13 boards. The Wildcats were led by Noah Seo’s 11 points until he fouled out in the final quarter. Jeremy Wang chipped in with four points and six rebounds. Up next, the Lions look to bring this momentum forward against the Orcas next Sunday while the Wildcats look to have a bounceback game against Hoop Force.

Yetis beat ice-cold Lights Out 43-13; Rana records 17 points, 12 boards By: Aric Pun Week 4 The Yetis came out strong on a 14-6 run to start the game and never looked back, winning 43-13 against Lights Out behind Pranish Rana’s 17-point, 12-rebound double-double performance. Isaac Su added 12 points and three boards while Jacob Li scored eight points to go along with two assists. Luke Chang rounded out the Yetis’ scoring efforts with six. Lights Out struggled offensively all game, unable to overcome the Yetis' defensive presence. Noah Easton recorded eight points for Lights Out while Chris Chan splashed a three-pointer in the second quarter. Looking to next Sunday, the Yetis play against the Heat. Lights Out looks to rebound from this week's loss with a matchup against the Raptors.

Division 6/7

Black Widow continues its dominant start to season with win over Cream City By: Aric Pun Week 4 Nikki Tran and Matthew Phan both scored a game-high 15 points each to lead Black Widow to a 41-29 victory against the struggling Cream City, who are still looking for their first win of the season. Black Widow remains undefeated with a 4-0 record. Tran also grabbed eight boards and dished out an assist. Logan Blythe added four points and grabbed 13 boards. Cream City struggled offensively today, with Aidan Wu being the high man with 11 points and four rebounds. Deven Ngan chipped in with seven points of his own to go along with nine boards and an assist. Next Sunday looks to be an epic clash between the two remaining undefeated teams in their division, as Black Widow takes on the Bruins. Cream City looks to regroup and get their first win of the season against the Thunder Dragons.

Bruins stay undefeated with 41-24 pouncing on Eagles, Tom scores 15 By: Aric Pun Week 4 Ethan Tom scored a game-high 15 points to go along with an assist to help lead his Bruins to a resounding 41-24 victory against the Eagles, remaining undefeated with a 4-0 record. Daniel and Samuel Bai of the Bruins scored 12 points and 10 points, respectively, while also dishing out a combined five dimes. Coach Ramaya’s Eagles struggled offensively in today's game, with none of his players reaching double-digit figures in scoring. Kai Taylor was the leading scorer for the Eagles with nine points. Jason Ramaya had eight points while Quentin Kurniawan had four. Looking to next Sunday, the Bruins look to improve to 5-0 against Black Widow while the Eagles look to get back on track as they face Give No Quarter.

Give No Quarter beat Thunder Dragons 40-33 behind Miller’s 19 points By: Aric Pun Week 4 Xavier Miller scored 19 points to go along with seven rebounds as he led the way for Give No Quarter, beating the Thunder Dragons 40-33. Mason Lee scored eight points and grabbed 10 boards for a near double-double for GNQ; Lorenzo Lascano and Ray Lin both chipped in with six points apiece. As for the Thunder Dragons, Jayden Calm led the way in scoring with 16 points. Chalmers Xu had eight points and six boards while Blake Newman had seven points, six rebounds and three assists. Next Sunday, Give No Quarter look to take on the Eagles while the Thunder Dragons face Cream City.

Division 8/9/10

Black Mambas’ unselfish play leads to annihilation of Wolves 64-9 By: Aric Pun Week 4 Jacob Villavicencio had a game-high seven assists to go along with seven points and two boards in three quarters, spearheading the Black Mambas offense to a 64-9 pouncing on the Wolves. The Black Mambas now improve to 4-0 on the season. Charlie Liu struggled in the first half, missing a triage of wide-open layups before recollecting himself in the second half, finishing with eight points, 11 rebounds, and an assist. Valentino Consolida added nine points to go along with nine boards while Maxwell Weng chipped in with a solid eight points and seven rebounds. Jeremiah Navarette scored eight points to go along with three boards; Aeson Wu added six points and four assists; Timothy Lu scored 10 points with three assists; Derek Wang had eight points. The Wolves struggled to find their rhythm all game, scoring just nine points as they struggled to get past the Black Mambas’ stingy defense. Finn Thompson had a team-high three points, scoring a three in the final quarter while Jayden Zhang scored a pair of points to go along with five boards and an assist. Timothy Kwan finished the game with two points and four rebounds. Looking to next Sunday, the Black Mambas look to stay undefeated as they take on the West Coast Ballers while the Wolves look to get things back on track as they face the Tigers,

Tigers now at .500 with win over West Coast Ballers 47-29 By: Aric Pun Week 4 An all-around effort from the Tigers led by Marcello Trieu’s 14 points catapulted the Tigers to a 47-29 victory against the West Coast Ballers. Jason Wu and Jonathan Guerrero of the Tigers scored 10 points apiece, respectively, while Aiden Pun scored nine points and dished out one of the team's two assists for the game. The West Coast Ballers were shorthanded for week 4’s game, led by Ryan Chen’s nine-point, five-rebound performance. Nolan Soriano scored a team-high 10 points while Timothy Kwan chipped in with five points. Looking to next Sunday, the Tigers look to go above .500 when they face the Wolves. The West Coast Ballers take on the Black Mambas in what should be an exciting matchup.
